The Governor’s Office of Information Technology and the Governor’s Innovation Council are hosting the Colorado Broadband Summit on November 16, 2007, at the Douglas County Events Center in Castle Rock. This seminal event will bring together federal, state, and local government, higher education, and the private sector for a one-day forum aimed at assessing the “State of the State” of broadband in Colorado and developing strategies for extending and enhancing broadband internet access throughout the state.

The Colorado Broadband Summit is a critical step in meeting the goals of the Colorado Promise and will pave the way to making quality education and health care available to all of Colorado’s citizens regardless of geography. Rural access to broadband internet would increase the use of telemedicine, enable distance learning, and create economic opportunities. This one-of-a-kind event will help forge the partnerships needed to make statewide broadband connectivity a reality.

The event is by invitation only, and is free of charge, but will require pre-registration.
